Because when you get down to it, xanga wasn't meant for readership, or any of that stuff; it's more like 40% MySpace and only 60% actual bloggage, so I'm gonna start posting everything over there. Mostly the same sort of stuff, we'll see. Anyway, it's much more googlable over there, and I just like it better. So, head on over and get used to reading there. Gonna do an epic first official blog post.
Also, my good friend Connway has a blog which seems to be getting cited by other random blogs throughout the interblag more often of late, so check him out too.
Yeah, so, I haven't posted here in something over two weeks. Whoop. I've got a big folder full of links, all of which are 'extremely fascinating' or 'mind-blowingly hilarious' (as described by a heavily tipped movie reviewer). This folder of links is currently not with me, as I am in California and did not bring my big computer with me.
Also, AudioSurf is very good, and I am rather frustrated that it doesn't run on my laptop. The only reason being that this thing only ever had one video card driver ever made for it, and it isn't compatible with any game made after 2002.
So for now, I can remember this one. Enjoy your finishing move.
Yahtzee from The Escapist web magazine makes some of the best video game review videos ever. Watch all of them (starting at the last page from here), until you get to the most recent one. You might want to also watch the videos that got him hired by The Escapist, which he also put on his site.
Also, he wrote the most hilarious interpretation for a song's lyrics that I have ever seen. It's best when you read the footnotes as you go along.
He also wrote a bunch of essays and other things and put them on his site. You should read them. They are invariably hilarious.
Also, nothing to do with anything, but Metatron is the coolest name for an angel, ever.
These guys are really, really good. Before they did an impressive 16 minute beat of Super Mario 64, and now they upped the ante twice more, up to 5:50 from bootup to beginning of the end scene/credits.
And then there's this video, which is a guy using tool-assisted control recording to beat a level designed to only be beatable if you use exploit basically every glitch in the game.
Canon came out with a new 21.1 megapixel camera body. That's including image stabilization, so the CCD is actually 21.4 megapixels. It's very expensive, and pretty cool. Seriously, that's a 5616x3744 resolution.
Also on the news today is Dubai, which it turns out is completely bonkers. Not only do they have the tallest hotel in the world, but it's also very wide, and they're planning to make at least one more that's even taller. Also an underwater hotel. Basically, by early 2009 they will probably be 2x as awesome as they are now, which is 40x as awesome as they were a decade ago, and this is only the beginning.
A neat, smooth, pretty, extremely well-played bass guitar solo.
A one-kid band (from France of all places...) playing a most excellent original composition on three instruments. (He reminds me of -- like, the ghost of Luke Bergman brought back from the dead in awesome mode.)
The Super Mario theme played to demo a bass guitar that has so many strings, it's like a bizarre autoharp. Really a very beautiful instrument.
